Historically, Japanese paper, or washi, has been integral to creating shoji — translucent doors, windows, or room dividers made of paper over a wooden frame. The translucency of washi, which allows light to permeate while ensuring privacy, is cleverly echoed in the dial of this watch. This design choice beautifully aligns with the watch’s eco-drive technology, allowing light to power the watch while paying homage to traditional Japanese craftsmanship.

The dial features a striking deep blue hue, coated with Duratec, which is twice as hard as the standard used in limited edition models. The watch’s sapphire glass is distinctively domed, offering a clear, three-dimensional view of the dial. Powered by the Caliber A060 movement, this timepiece boasts ultra-high accuracy, deviating no more than ±5 seconds per year. It includes a perpetual calendar with an instant jump date feature. As a quartz timepiece, it harnesses light for power, eliminating the need for batteries.
