At its soft launch in 2004 and full introduction in 2005, the Chronomat Evolution represented the next generation or evolution of Chronomat design. Larger in diameter, thickness, and weight than previous models introduced since the design family's modern launch in 1984, it represented the boldest take yet on the Chronomat base design, and helped set the groundwork for what is now considered a classic example of turn-of-the-century watch design.

The new Square 2001 limited edition, consisting of only 300 pieces, is a faithful reproduction of the model chosen by Jacques Cousteau. The new version of the Squale 2001 retains the exact proportions and dimensions of the original. The asymmetric barrel-shaped case, with hidden lugs, makes the 43 mm length feel more compact. The overall diameter is 40 mm, with a crown positioned at 4 o'clock, perfectly integrated into the case.

The two-tone bezel, in black and orange, recalls the vintage style of watches from the 1960s. Made of sapphire crystal for superior resistance to shocks and scratches, it features the "push to release" system, which allows the bezel to be unlocked in both directions only with perpendicular pressure, ensuring maximum security even in case of accidental impacts.

The design is fully vintage-inspired, with a black dial surrounded by a white rehaut with contrasting minute markers. The polished steel indices are applied and coated in SuperLuminova C3, ensuring optimal legibility even in low-light conditions. This unique and highly recognizable shape features a signed screw-down crown on the 4 o´clock position which is recessed and well protected against unwanted impact. The hand-painted black dial with the distinctly designed luminescent markers of Superluminova provides excellent legibility in low-light situations.

Squale T183 model with Forged Carbon, a highly resistant and extremely light material!

Forged carbon is a type of carbon fiber that is incredibly strong and light. The term “forged” is derived from the manufacturing process: small fragments of carbon fiber are placed in molds together with resin, then compressed and “forged” at high temperatures. 

This is the version with the Orange finish, sapphire glass with A/R coating, and steel screw case back.
