Marathon Search and Rescue (SAR) watches have been developed to meet the specifications set by the Canadian government for use in SAR operations.

Designed to withstand extreme conditions and match the capabilities of the user, these watches were first introduced in the early 1990s and are still actively used today. They feature overbuilt bezels for manipulation with gloved hands; low-light illumination for use during night missions; a screw-down crown and O-ring system for 30 ATM water resistance; high-torque bezels connecting movement with hands; and Incabloc™ shock absorbers on all automatic movements. The SAR dive watches are powered by Swiss-made automatic or quartz movements and are available in case sizes of 36 mm, 41 mm, and 46 mm.

This Marathon GSAR is the 41mm automatic version with the steel bracelet. It had a full service at Marathon with service invoice and comes in the original box. Great watch for a watch collector!
