Longines stands as a brand with an incredibly rich history. Originating in the period between the World Wars, the Longines Type A-7 Avigation Hack Watch transitioned from a pocket watch chronograph to a wristwatch, tailor-made for navigational purposes. It served as the American counterpart to the German B-Uhr Fliegers, albeit with a chronograph feature, similar to the French Type 20. The US Army Air Corps, now known as the US Air Force, utilized the Longines Type A-7 Avigation for its precision in "Aerial Navigation," which is reflected in the term “Avigation.”
